For example this can be used to create a visualization where all the "Future" items are shown as transparent. Another example is in underground mining where the mined volumes are modeled and then the installed equipment is modeled inside the mining shapes. The mine model is imported (from Deswik) for visualization and would be useful to change to transparent to be able to see the content inside.

Have you tried either
turning the visibility of these components off via the data visualization tree OR
hiding the elements using the hide tools in the top left after selecting the item you want to hide
Do either of these options satisfy this need? Or could you provide additional clarity on the desired functionality?
